Geeky DIY projects

Hello dear people!

I'm very happy to tell you that I own a brand new laptop! It cost me 800 euros and it is worth every one.
It's a Lenovo Ideapad Y500 and it's the first laptop that can play serious games on a reasonable quality setting! Therefore I have been playing Skyrim pretty much non-stop. I had played it before on the XBOX 360, but this quality is so much better. It's amazing. (Full HD screen just sayin')

Enough about my laptop, you're not interested it that. You're here for the roundup.
But because of this laptop I thought of making a geeky roundup. So here we go!

Inspirational Colours

Hello people!
I'm going to show you some amazing colour inspiration; get ready to be inspired!

Colours are just about the most important thing in art, and the best way to become inspired is to look at lot's of pictures. Mainly natural pictures really tend to inspire me.
I've recently started experimenting with watercolours, so I'm really looking around for colours.
I've just looked up a bunch of pictures that I think are great inspiration.




Amazing right?
An easy way to make a palette out of these is with sites like these:

You give it an image and the site will generate a colour palette based on the colours that are used most in the picture.
This can be useful a blog template, for example. Or just a reference for your art, so you know how the colour is supposed to look like when you mix it.

Fashion DIY inspiration: Collars!

Hey guys,

I've been very busy with school lately, so I don't really have the time to DIY, sorry!
So here's a small roundup of a DIY I want to do in the future: Collars!
I just chose some pictures that inspired me, I found all of them on Pinterest.

   

I'm sorry, it's not much, but these pictures really inspire me to make collars myself.
I think I'm going to make a DIY of it myself.
I just hope my camera will take good pictures of it.(I don't have a macro lens)

Tuesday's Top 10 1-01-2013

Hello everyone!

Happy new year! I hope this year will be great to all of you.
Since the first of January of this new year is on a Tuesday, let's celebrate with a Tuesday's top 10!
I haven't been very active the last couple of days because of Christmas and I had to travel to England for new year and, on the same day, my stepsisters birthday. So it's been pretty busy.
I'll be in England for some more days, so you can expect some activity from me.
Anyway, let's get rollin'

1.

I love galaxy prints, I would love to make these tights.
I'm probably going to use this techniques for shirts too.

This is a great idea for a notebook cover, I've got loads of magazines just laying about.

So cute! 
And so easy! I'd love this, it's amazing.
You can also very easily customize them, change the shape or colour.

A lovely idea for home decoration, I've got loads of small plastic animals from when I was young so this is very possible.
Spray paint them in any colour you want!

How to tie the perfect bow?
Yes please! I love this bow, and think of the things I could use it in.

This is just such an easy way to make any cheap glass look classy and original.
Use it on everything!

A cheap but classy looking chandelier?
Why not? And it's easily to customize, just spray paint the beads!

So easy and so lovely, You can also make fridge magnets out of these by just glueing a magnet on the back!

Such a classy ornament, in this case, it was used for a wedding, but I could see it as a regular ornament or in a Christmas tree!

10.

This doesn't lead to a site.
It's more of inspiration. Take an old book and make a sketch every day of the year.
Wouldn't that be amazing?

Polymer clay inspiration.

Hello people,

As you may know, I'm very much into polymer clay, I love to make cute jewelry with it.
So for inspiration I go on Pinterest or other sites and I find some inspiration. It's mainly stuff made by other people or tutorials. 
Obviously I don't just copy other peoples' stuff, I try to give it my own twist. That's why it's called inspiration.
So I thought I'd share some of my inspiration with you, and in the future I might just do a tutorial myself.



Some pieces are of real cakes, fondant or not-polymer clay items because they're basically the same thing.

Hello people,

Since school and holidays (We celebrate Sinterklaas in Holland around the 5th of December, it's similar to Christmas) have been making me busy last weeks, I couldn't really blog alot.
And I became ill. That means more time for blogging!

Then you must remember these adorable flying keys.
The linked site doesn't provide a tutorial but you basically find old keys and print some wings to stick to them.

The tutorial is said to be pretty easy so I might give it a try!

I've always liked skirts like these, now I can make one myself!

I just hope they wouldn't look weird on me since I'm pretty small.

My motto: Never throw something away before taking a good second look at it.
Okay, I may have a thousand mottos, but this is an important one!
